*ANNUAL PUBLIC MEETING THE TRUE COST OF THAT PUPPY
SOURCE: HSUS ![]() The true cost is often cruelty when you purchase a puppy. Puppy mills are breeding factories that churn out puppies in shockingly poor conditions. But most people who buy these puppies have no idea where they really came from.
Puppy mills hide their dirty business by selling through pet stores, through flashy websites promoting "family raised" puppies, or even through neighborhood newspaper ads. Pet lovers are duped into buying adorable puppies that come with "papers," health guarantees," and other empty promises. These puppies often become sick or even die shortly after purchase. Life can be even worse for the "breeding stock" -- dogs that live their entire lives in cages until their fertility wanes and they are destroyed. Their only hope lies in the outcry of people like you who care about dogs. And the puppy-buying public. PLEASE, NEVER buy a puppy without seeing where the animal was born and raised. Stir in powdered milk, cornmeal and egg. Add flour, 1/2 cup at a time; mixing well after each addition. Knead 3 to 4 minutes, adding more flour if necessary to make a very stiff dough. Pat or roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Use cookie cutter to make shapes and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 50 minutes. Allow to cool and dry out until hard. CALLING ALL ANIMAL LOVERS The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "feed an animal in need" for free. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising. Here's the web site; please pass it along to people you know: http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/ REMEMBER: - Within the heart of every stray lies the singular desire to be loved.
- The 'imperfect' dog that has been tossed aside may be the perfect addition to your family. - Who inspires your children to care about animals? - "It is contray to human dignity to cause animals to suffer and die needlessly." ~ Catechism of the Catholic Church paragrap 2418 |
